Person Place Thing with Randy Cohen: Featuring Guest David Gonzalez. Online Event @ Online - Zoom Webinar

Person Place Thing is an interview show based on this idea: people are particularly engaging when they speak not directly about themselves but about something they care about. Guests talk about one person, one place, and one thing that are important to them. The result?  Surprising stories from great speakers. Host Randy Cohen will be interviewing journalist and photographer, David Gonzalez.

Journalist and photographer David Gonzalez has served as the co-editor of The New York Times Lens blog and also served as the Bronx Bureau Chief, Metro Religion writer, About New York columnist and the Central America/Caribbean Bureau Chief.  As a long-time member on the biweekly “Side Street” photo-essay feature of the Metro desk, his work has often focused on the city’s neighborhoods and how they reflect the larger social and cultural issues in American society. His prizes include a Distinguished Writing Award from the American Society of Newspaper Editors, the Columbia University’s Mike Berger Award and was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Gonzalez was born and raised in the Bronx, earned a B.A. from Yale University and an M.A. in Journalism from Columbia University.

For twelve years Randy Cohen wrote “The Ethicist,” a weekly column for the The New York Times Magazine. His first television work was writing for Late Night with David Letterman for which he won three Emmy awards.  This live show is also taped and broadcast at a later date on public radio throughout the Northeast (WNYE, 91.5 FM in NYC).
