This 1-hour immersive workshop, led by choreographer Elodie Dufour, invites dancers into the physical and emotional world of her residency work UNspoken—a contemporary piece exploring silence, identity, and the lasting impact of words we carry but never express.
The session begins with a guided warm-up designed to connect breath, body, and internal awareness, followed by learning a phrase directly from the work. Dancers will explore the movement through layered performance tasks, focusing on intention, resistance, vulnerability, and release.
The workshop culminates in an interactive group exercise where one dancer stands at the center of a circle while others gently throw soft balls toward them. The dancer navigates and avoids these “attacks,” representing external pressures, judgment, and the invisible weight of words. This exercise becomes a powerful physical exploration of defense, overwhelm, resilience, and adaptation.
Blending technique, improvisation, and storytelling, this workshop offers a space to move beyond steps and into lived experience—inviting each participant to connect with what remains unspoken in their own body.
Spots are limited. To sign up for the workshop, please email [email protected] before March 31; If a spot is still available, you will receive a confirmation.
