Writers-in-Performance is a 12-week workshop-training program and performance that features writers and poets in showcasing original writing in an ensemble-based theater piece celebrating their diverse voices. The workshop will explore writing exercises, theater games, improvisation, movement and ensemble work in a safe, creative environment resulting in a theater piece performed by all participants. The opportunity to participate in the workshop and perform is offered without charge! The Final Presentation is scheduled for Friday & Saturday, December 5 & 6 at 7:30PM.

Auditions to be held at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, 199 Chambers Street (Between Greenwich & West Streets) on Wednesday, September 17 & Thursday, September 18 from 5:30 – 8:30 PM.

Professional actor, director and teacher, Mario Giacalone, is the Facilitator and Director of the Writers in Performance program. Giacalone, the Program Director at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, has taught acting in New York City for over ten years and has directed both stage and film.
