Tribeca PAC’s Schooltime Educational Theater program offers subsidized tickets for school groups in the New York area. Classes are offered opportunities to enjoy a wide variety of theatrical events including plays, musicals, circuses, concerts, and dance.
Mermaid Theatre has earned international acclaim for its unique interpretations incorporating innovative puppetry, striking scenic effects, and evocative original music to provide very young audiences with an effortless introduction to the performing arts and the excitement of reading. Goodnight Moon is a celebration of familiar nighttime rituals, while The Runaway Bunny’s pretend tale of leaving home evokes reassuring responses from his loving mum. Both tales feature endearing rabbit characters, and the soothing rhythms of bunny banter and dream-like imagery never fail to infuse young readers with a reassuring sense of security. Mermaid’s staged adaptation will bring a new sense of appreciation to stories that have delighted several generations. Grades PreK to 3rd.

The Rejuvenary River Circus is an allegorical tale that follows Malakai the water carrier and messenger as he travels between Mountain Peaks and the Deep Blue Sea. Along his journeys Malakai encounters a host of creatures, including a lyrical sea turtle, a fast-talking crow, a pair of industrious beavers, filter-feeding oysters, and schools of migrating fish. Each creature offers insights into their particular role in a watershed’s ecosystem services. When the old man falls ill, his granddaughter Rachel is confronted by the challenge of restoring her grandfather, the River, back to health. This special, free educational performance will premiere for one week only! The link will be live for classes (and everyone) to enjoy on Monday, April 4 and will be available at any time until Friday, April 8 at 3PM, 2022.
