Lori Kee is an award-winning director and actress specializing in collaboration on new plays. She endeavors to bring this work to BMCC students. In Spring 2015, she directed “The Fairy Tale Project” (FTP) a new musical by Labyrinth Theatre Company member Webb Wilcoxen in Theatre 2, TPAC. FTP was workshopped and developed by Mr. Wilcoxen with BMCC students in rehearsal throughout the spring semester.  In Spring 2018, she hopes to bring a new play from another working Off Broadway playwright, written with our students in mind and collaborated on in the same way.

As an actor and director, Lori has originated new work in NYC, regionally, and abroad with numerous collaborators, including new plays by: Kristina Poe, Craig muMsila Grant, Arlene Hutton, Christine Toy Johnson, Neil LaBute, Erik Ehn, Tony Tanner, Don Nigro, and John Patrick Shanley. She has performed in/on TV, film, commercials, new media, and traditional and interactive theatre across the US.

Lori is Resident Director and a Core Member of Nylon Fusion Theatre Company (chosen as one of “8 Young and Mighty Off and Off Off Broadway Theatre Companies” by Backstage Magazine). She is also a member of FAB (For and About) Women at The Barrow Group, Society of Directors and Choreographers (SDC), Actors Equity (AEA), SAG- AFTRA, and a director member of the famed Actors Studio Playwright Directors Unit (PDU).
