Kids Take Center Stage!
Another great musical adaptation TBD during the 2026-27 season!

Get ready for an unforgettable week of acting, creativity, and fun! Guided by professional theater artists from Missoula Children’s Theatre, kids will spend the week rehearsing, learning, and performing on stage a lively musical adaptation by Michael McGill.
Who Can Join?
Anyone can join between the ages 5–18 (5-year-olds must be enrolled in Kindergarten). No prior experience or preparation is required—just bring enthusiasm! All registered participants will be cast in the production. Casting takes place on the first day and is used to determine the most suitable role for each child. The show is rehearsed throughout the week and culminates in two public performances on Saturday. Plan to be available throughout the week.
Schedule Overview
Acting Camp runs Monday through Saturday (or may begin Tuesday if Monday is a holiday). On the first day, starting at 11AM through 1PM, all participants attend Casting. No preparation needed. It is followed by an afternoon rehearsal from 1:15PM to 3:15PM. Rehearsal times vary by role and are assigned after casting. Not all participants are called for every session, but all participants are called for most sessions.
A regular rehearsal day is as follows: A morning session: 11AM to 1PM, followed by a brief snack break (kids bring their snacks), followed by an afternoon session from 1:15PM to 3:15PM. The dress rehearsal is Friday from 11AM to 2PM, followed by snack break, and an afternoon rehearsal session, usually out of costume, from 2:15PM to 3PM. The performances are Saturday. The call time on that day is 9:30AM. Shows at 11AM and 1:30PM.
Workshops
There will be two to three acting workshops offered to all cast members usually on select mornings from 10AM to 10:45AM. These workshops are optional to the cast, but a whole lot of fun! In the past, workshops have included acting, mime and improv.
Registration & Contact
Advance registration is required, and all registered participants will be cast in the production. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email along with a contact form that must be completed prior to the start of camp. Registration will begin summer 2026. Registration costs are separate from ticket purchases.
Please Note
Families should plan to keep the week open through 3:15 PM (3:30 PM on Saturday); however, not all campers are called for every rehearsal block. Schedules are determined after casting on the first day. Most campers attend multiple sessions throughout the week, and some may be called for all sessions depending on their role. Younger children (ages 5–7) may be scheduled for fewer sessions earlier in the week, depending on their roles.
Observing Rehearsals
All of our rehearsals are open to you as the parent / guardian. Be aware, however, that it may be fun for the students to surprise their friends and family at the end of the week by showing what they have accomplished! Please understand that we cannot allow guests to disrupt the rehearsals. Productive rehearsals depend on the focused work of the cast members involved.
The dress rehearsal is Friday, from 11am to 2pm. This includes enough time for the cast to get into costume and run the show with starts and stops as needed. Please note, this is not a performance. The dress rehearsal is the first time the cast has the opportunity to get accustomed to their costumes and props. Because of this we do not allow an audience to watch the dress rehearsal.
