Stephen Elliot is Director and Senior Counsel, Pershing Prime Services – Pershing LLC, a BNY Mellon Company.  Stephen Elliot has been a Senior Member of the Prime Services Legal Team at Credit Suisse for the past four years.  In his role at Credit Suisse he provides legal support to the CS Prime Services Team, advising on Prime Brokerage Documentation, Structured Transactions and ISDA Negotiations among other matters.  He is responsible for maintaining legal document templates, agreement control procedures and supervising documentation negotiators. Stephen was a member of the team of individuals awarded the Credit Suisse GC Award for Collaboration for work done in 2014.  Stephen Elliot is co-chair of the CS Philanthropy Committee and a member of both the CS Diversity Committee and Career Development Committee.  Stephen co-manages the annual Exploring Law Posting program and has served as a Team Captain for the 2013 and 2014 Junior Achievement Bowl-a-thon raising over $4000 in 2014 and has managed the 2014 CS Summer Associate Program.   In addition, Stephen managed the participation of over 20 CS employees for the FLI Student Career Day Volunteering Event, has served as a panelist on the PALS Career Panel: “The Vast Opportunities as In-House Counsel”, is a mentor for a number of CS employees as part of a formal CS mentorship program and enjoys mentoring on a more informal basis as well.  Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Stephen was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley in the Prime Broker & Equity Derivatives Documentation Team where in addition to supporting the MS Prime Services Team and the Equity Derivatives Desk he handled all restricted securities transactions for the Cash Desk.  Earlier in his Career Stephen was Deputy General Counsel of Credit Lyonnais Securities Asia, a brokerage/investment bank in Hong Kong, an associate at Law Firms in New York and Hong Kong and ran a specialty bakery in the West Village of New York.  Prior to Law School Stephen worked as an accountant for a year in Seattle and Sweden.  Stephen Elliot received a B.B.A. degree from the University of Washington in Seattle and a J.D. from Yale Law School where he was a member of the Yale Journal of International Law, and a board member of the Barrister’s Union and Pacific-Islander Asian Native-American Association.
